Reading the map
Three patterns explain most trivia: New York and Los Angeles double up in every league (two teams each). Several “city” teams actually play in suburbs — the Cowboys in Arlington, the 49ers in Santa Clara, both New York football teams in New Jersey. And Canada fields seven NHL teams, one NBA team and one MLB team — the northern footprint of leagues that grew up on both sides of the border.
